Ministerial Development

Credentialed Ministry Formation Process

The credentialing of Church of God ministers is a ministry formation process.  In this process, the church partners with the individual to help the individual develop the abilities to fulfill his/her divine call and place of ministry.  This developmental journey occurs through personal discovery, education, training, and becoming a credentialed minister in the Church of God.

Completion of Calling and Ministry Studies

Completion of Calling and Ministry Studies (CAMS) is required prior to obtaining Exhorter credentials in the Church of God. Completion of Calling and Ministry Studies (CAMS) is required prior to obtaining Exhorter credentials in the Church of God. To apply for CAMS, the applicant must complete a New Minister/Calling and Ministry Studies (CAMS)/Exhorter application, and submit to a background check.

Ministerial Internship Program

Completion of the Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) is required prior to obtaining Ordained Minister credentials in the Church of God. MIP provides intensive training under the direction of a supervising pastor for a period of eight months.

Lay Leadership Development

LLD is a program that assists the local church pastor to motivate, equip, and train leaders for the local congregation. Level I includes pastor-supervised independent study and readings in leadership, monthly seminars led by the pastor, and ministry assignments within the local congregation.
